Kimi to Boku Ep. 10 Review (aka Magical Flowers and Chizuru Love)

Biscuits, anyone?

Ohhh my gosh, this show. This episode. It's really hard to explain why I love Kimi to Boku so much. It's something about the simplicity of it, and the nostalgic air, and how it's soft and sweet but not necessarily perfect.

This particular episode focuses mainly on Chizuru (who seems to be the star of this season). I can't even begin to tell you how much appreciation I've gained for his character since the show started.

It starts off with Kaname practicing for the speech he has to give at graduation, just walking along until Chizuru comes along and attacks him.

This is one of those pictures I really want to make into a poster or wallpaper for my computer, because it's just really cute and funny.

Don't be mean, Kanamecchi! But, fine, I'll stop getting sidetracked...

Anyway, this is followed by one of my favorite quotes from this episode:

"No, Shun-chan, you're the only one who can pull flowers out of thin air at will."

Pfft. Chizuru, you darling little thing, I'm so glad you noticed Shun's special secret magical girl power.

After discussing sparkly transformation sequences for Shun, they start wondering where Mary is since they haven't seen her in a while. Chizuru goes all blushy, remembering how he confessed to her, and hides when they pass her outside. Meanwhile, the twins try to get her attention by bribing her with food.

Come to the dark side. Chizuru's got BISCUITS.

(Another of my favorite lines/scene, as they then start chasing her around, much to Kanamecchi's disdain.)

This is followed by an awkward conversation between the two as they try and act relatively normal and completely fail at it. The biscuits don't survive the encounter.

After that's over, Chizuru gets asked by some girls to take pictures of the twins. He does so with great relish, and starts playing photographer immediately.

Had to put this picture in because they're adorable...and, look, it's the magazine from last episode! (I still want to know if that's a real series on the cover there.)

Anyway, they soon decide that it's not good enough to have normal shots, so Chizuru whips out the hair gel and he and Yuuki make Yuuta all fabulous.

Shun, are you providing the flowery decor?

Yuuta isn't all that impressed, though...

Yuuki and Kaname join the fun as well, and nearly get in a fight with each other, as per usual.

And now we get into Chizuru's main part. There are less screenshots here, mostly because I didn't want to ruin the moment by interrupting it for that.

Basically, the twins manipulate Chizuru and Mary into taking a picture together. They get into their usual little arguments, and are happy to be somewhat back to normal, but this changes when Mary gets embarrassed by the picture (she blinked) and blurts out that she didn't want Shun to see it.

I-It'll be okay, Chizuru! *cries*

I was so heartbroken for him in this scene...

Eventually, they run into each other again and confront each other. Mary doesn't know how she should act, but he reassures her that she should just act like she always does, since he didn't really expect an answer and knows she's in love with Shun. Then she admits that she couldn't stop thinking about how she should act around him, and he's just happy that she thought about him so much, even if it was just for a little while.

Chizuru...I realize just how mature he is under all the jokes and smiles in moments like this. I love that he doesn't pressure her or humiliate her, he just always tries to help her, and...I really hope she'll love him back one day, because he deserves to be happy.

Please, Kimi to Boku, give these two a happy ending together. Chizuru is too sweet to not get one...
